New Delhi:

Director Karan Johar, in the recent episode of Coffee With Karan 7 claims that the actor Aamir Khan is responsible for losing the tonality in the Hindi cinema offered by the South cinema. In a conversation with Aamir, theAe Dil Hai Mushkil director said, “There’s been so much success that some of the South Industry movies have offered us in terms of Bahubali, RRR, KGFY Pushpa and some of our movies that haven’t been working. Is there a change that has happened recently in our films in terms of there being a key that KGF have or Pushpa it has actually what hindi cinema used to have. In fact, we released it and you are responsible for it.”

Explaining why he believes Aamir is responsible for all of this, Karan said: “In the year 2001 you came up with two movies. Dil Chahta Hai Y The riverthey both had new sensibilities, they both had a new syntax in cinema and after that you came up with a movie Sono De Basanti in 2006, then you did Par Taare Zameen Immediately after that, with the result you started to create a certain audience and filmmakers.”

To which Aamir denied all the claims, saying, “No, you’re wrong. Those were all heart movies. Those movies had emotions. They reach the common man. It’s something you’ll connect with emotionally.” Sono De Basanti It is a very emotional film. It touches the grassroots.”

Aamir further said, “I’m not saying I make action movies or crude movies. Make good movies with great stories, but choose themes that are relevant to most people. Every filmmaker has the freedom to do what they want. But when choose something that most of India is not really interested in… There are niche people who are interested, which most of us don’t realize. That’s the difference I feel.”

South Indian films in recent years have done exceptionally well around the world. But big Bollywood movies like Prithvirajby Ranbir Kapoor shamshera and Ranveer Singh Jayeshbhai Jordaar failed to attract audiences to theaters.

Other than that, the fifth episode of Karan’s chat show ended on a very happy note, with the sarfaroush the actor won the quick round with 73% of the votes from the live audience and with Kareena winning the quick round with a majority of 15 points on her kitty.

Meanwhile, speaking of the work front, Aamir is currently busy promoting his next family entertainment movie. Laal Singh Chadha which is set to hit theaters on August 11, 2022. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh.

Laal Singh Chadha will face a major box office shock with Akshay Kumar’s next movie Raksha Bandhan.
