Actress Anne Heche crashes her car into her house in Mar Vista, causing a huge fire

The driver who crashed into a Mar Vista home, starting a fire, has been identified as actress Anne Heche.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Walgrove Avenue just before 11 a.m.

The car, a 2020 Mini Copper, drove through the house and started a massive fire. Firefighters doused the flames within an hour, eventually removing the car from the home.

LAFD says Heche was rescued and taken to the hospital in critical condition. SkyFOX footage appears to show Heche trying to get out of the stretcher she was placed on.

Ring camera footage shows a blue Mini Copper speeding down a residential street before the accident. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the vehicle stalled inside a 738-square-foot, two-story home built in 1952, causing structural compromise and erupting in an intense fire. Witnesses say a neighbor ran to the house and got the owner and her pets out of the house safely. He tried to get Heche out of the vehicle, but was unable to due to heavy smoke.

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Heche is an Emmy nominated actress. Her most recent movie was ’13 Minutes’. She also starred in ‘Six days seven nights’ and ‘Volcano’. She also dated talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
