Brad Pitt is having a proud moment as a father.
The two-time Oscar winner couldn’t hide his pride in his daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, who left the nest and headed off to college.
On Sunday, Pitt’s ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, announced that the couple’s 17-year-old daughter has enrolled at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Spelman, founded in 1881, is a “historically black university and a world leader in the education of women of African descent,” according to the private school’s website.
While promoting his new movie “Bullet Train” in Los Angeles on Monday, Pitt spoke about how proud he is of Zahara’s journey to higher education.
“I am very proud of her,” Pitt told Vanity Fair. “She is so smart. She is going to thrive even more in college. It is an exciting and beautiful time to find her own path and pursue her interests. I am very proud”.
“Where does time go, right? They grow too fast. It brings a tear to the eye,” she added.
Pitt is also the father of Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14, whom he shares with Jolie.
The couple’s eldest son, Maddox, enrolled at Yonsei University in South Korea in August 2019, three years after his famous parents quit.
Although they were declared legally single nearly three years later, the former couple’s legal battle still continues.
Pitt was awarded joint custody of their minor children in May 2021.
However, Judge John Ouderkirk was later disqualified from the case for failing to sufficiently disclose business relationships with Pitt’s lawyers, so the exes are still fighting for custody.
