Elon Musk Says Feds Drug Tested Him For A Year After Joe Rogan Podcast Smoke Session

Elon Musk had to endure a year of federal drug testing after smoking marijuana on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

Musk, who is the richest man in the world and one of the most influential people, appeared on the infamous Rogan podcast in 2018. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX opened up for an intimate interview with Rogan as most guests do. . Musk and Rogan discussed a variety of topics before the UFC color commentator introduced some weed into the situation. Most speculate that this was the first time Musk had tried devil’s lettuce.

Following his appearance on Rogan’s podcast, Tesla shares plunged about 9 percent after investors and shareholders witnessed Musk’s smoke session with Rogan. It cost the company billions.

Earlier this week, Musk appeared on the “Full Send” podcast and revealed to the Nelk Boys that his smoking adventures on Rogan’s podcast also led to a year of federal drug testing.

“I got a lot of backlash, because it’s still illegal at the federal level,” Musk said.

According to the billionaire investor, he was drug tested for almost everything by the government because of federal contracts tied to SpaceX. He was just bad optics and Musk had to atone for his smoking ways bluntly.

“SpaceX has contracts with the federal government, so our competitors were saying, ‘Why aren’t you doing anything? See him shamelessly smoking weed on Joe Rogan’s podcast,” Musk said.

“I was drug tested for everything.”

Musk, who currently has a fortune of more than $260 billion, has recovered very well from the incident. However, he just shows how a few moments on Rogan’s podcast could land even the richest man in the world in hot water. With 11 million listeners per episode, Rogan’s Spotify podcast has that kind of reach.
